Summary

These volunteers are called Heart-Centered Impact Coaches (HCICs), young adults (18+) who empower youth during our workshops at school or outside of school hour

Detailed description

As an HCIC, the volunteer is prepared for the role of a group leader: they are paired during our workshops with a group of 5-6 youth, where they connect with and guide youth during activities of the workshop, help create a space where youth feel safe and comfortable to share openly and participate 100%, and are positive role model figures in lives of youth.

New volunteers would need to follow a couple of training courses to prepare them for their role as an HCIC. As we give different workshops for youth, we are flexible with the volunteers' availability: they can help in the morning if we have workshops at schools, or on the weekends if we have open-setting workshops. What we ask is a commitment of 6 months to a year and a minimum of 12 hours dedicated to volunteering with us.

The benefits of volunteer work are plentiful, and as an HCIC we offer young adults the opportunity to:

- further develop themselves personally and professionally (self-awareness, communication, working in groups, professional attitude)

- get to know the social (and educational) field better

- connect and network with like-minded young adults

- belong to a positive and supportive community
