Summary
Our shelter needs volunteers on a daily basis to feed the animals, clean, and take them to the vet when needed.
Detailed description
We need volunteers who ideally can commit to at least one morning shift per week. We especially need people on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. The morning shift goes from 8 am to 12 noon. Tasks include feeding, cleaning, and caring for the animals.
About Aruba Animal Shelter
The Aruba Animal Shelter’s main mission is to improve the lives of Aruba’s neglected dogs and cats by giving them a second chance.
We do this by housing as many unwanted animals as we can to give them the care, love, affection and medical attention they need. We also talk to people who bring in animals they can no longer care for and ask them what their problems are and talk about possible solutions. Some people bring in unwanted litters of pups or kittens, and we emphasize how important it is to have their pets either spayed or neutered in order to reduce overpopulation.
All animals sold for adoption aged six months or older are either spayed or neutered prior to them leaving the shelter. All new owners of puppies and kittens (less than six months old) are required to have them spayed or neutered upon reaching 6 months of age. The shelter follows up with these adopters to ensure they follow through with this obligation.
